eGenesis is looking for a Molecular and Cell Biology Intern to join our Development team this summer. You will assist in cell-line and method development, as well as perform molecular/cell-based assays to support our xenotransplantation programs. In this role, you will receive hands-on training from experts in mammalian genome engineering and molecular biology techniques. You will gain experience in characterizing genome-altered cells and conducting downstream functional assays. Your responsibilities will include executing assays and collaborating with both the Development and Quality teams to provide data on genome-engineered cell lines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain mammalian/porcine cell cultures, design and perform genome engineering experiments, perform quality checks on the genome altered cells, and perform experiments to characterize the genome altered cells
- Perform relevant assays to provide data on genome-engineered cell lines
- Record and document scientific data (e.g., analytical test methods, SOPs) for development, quality, and regulatory filings
- Present scientific data during team meetings
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in molecular biology, biotechnology, or related field
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including sterile techniques, conducting routine cell biology experiments, and maintaining mammalian cell cultures. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 engineering and cell-line development is preferred
