Position Summary eGenesis is looking for a Molecular and Cell Biology Intern to join our Development team this summer. You will assist in cell-line and method development, as well as perform molecular/cell-based assays to support our xenotransplantation programs. In this role, you will receive hands-on training from experts in mammalian genome engineering and molecular biology techniques. You will gain experience in characterizing genome-altered cells and conducting downstream functional assays. Your responsibilities will include executing assays and collaborating with both the Development and Quality teams to provide data on genome-engineered cell lines.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain mammalian/porcine cell cultures, design and perform genome engineering experiments, perform quality checks on the genome altered cells, and perform experiments to characterize the genome altered cells
Perform relevant assays to provide data on genome-engineered cell lines
Record and document scientific data (e.g., analytical test methods, SOPs) for development, quality, and regulatory filings
Present scientific data during team meetings
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in molecular biology, biotechnology, or related field
Experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including sterile techniques, conducting routine cell biology experiments, and maintaining mammalian cell cultures. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 engineering and cell-line development is preferred
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
