Our mission is to instill the values of Celtics basketball in young athletes, coaches, referees, and parents across New England.
At the Jr. Celtics Academy, we offer inclusive and transformative basketball experiences that go beyond the court. Our programs combine fun with proven techniques to teach not only basketball skills but also essential life lessons, nurturing the next generation of passionate Celtics fans and responsible community members. If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team as a Youth Basketball Development Coach. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mission to empower youth through basketball, helping them develop both their skills and character.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a positive role model to participants by being an active and hardworking leader
- Build a positive environment where participants feel like they can show up and do their best on and off the court
- Pre-event set up and post-event breakdown
- Greet parents and consistently engage with participants
- Ability to provide positive feedback and structure to the development of a camper
- Ability to help facility on-court training and skill development
- Ability to identify players that need additional support and attention.
Requirements:
- 3 years or more working with young athletes
- Professional experience in education and/or coaching
- Ability to engage with a wide age range of participants and ability levels
- Overall dedication and understanding of youth development basketball training
- Exhibit unwavering passion for the activities and focus on safety
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Available to work flexible hours, primarily weekends and holiday/school break periods
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience
