General Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Professional Development, conduct observations and program assessments using measurement tools in classrooms. Identify opportunities to improve curriculum, teaching staff skills and other activities in support of facilitating curriculum implementation. Works collaboratively with Program Directors to ensure the implementation of quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Provide technical guidance to Program Directors on conducting program assessments utilizing quality standards and developing plans with timelines for conducting these assessments in their program.
- Utilize measurement tools to assess compliance with quality standards according to agency and state requirements. Establish appropriate written goals and timelines for teachers and administrators to improve program and classroom quality.
- Coach and guide educators in transferring professional development training into practice to continuously improve the quality of programs and the skills of staff through a variety of ways – trainings, cohort meetings or team meetings.
- Coach and guide educators in completion of child assessments and use assessment data to guide curriculum planning.
- Maintain close communications with site directors regarding staff/classroom goals and progress. Communicate program progress with Senior Director(s) to ensure programs are moving forward through continual improvement.
- Prepare and submit monthly summary reports for each program, as necessary.
- Provide monthly trainings as part of orientation and review for staff in Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) and Creative Curriculum.
- Support the teaching teams that are using classroom specific software and how it relates to TSG.
- Facilitate monthly “lunch in a bag” mini trainings or discussion topics – remotely or in person.
- Attend monthly Early Childhood Team meetings.
- Participate in working groups as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions:
- Knowledge and skills in program quality standards and use of measurement tools in early care and education
- Bachelor’s degree; 5 years relevant experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and training
- Teacher or Lead Teacher Certification through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet/e-mail
- Some local travel required
