The Quality Manager oversees the company’s quality systems, such as ISO, UL, NSF, and all regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for ensuring that the management system related to quality is implemented and followed at all times.
- Comply with and enforce all EHS requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure processes, work areas, equipment, and behavior put safety first, prioritizing injury prevention. Take a leadership role in safety improvement initiatives throughout the department and facility.
- Promote a safe work environment by implementing “Stop, Think, and Ask” behaviors with all team members.
- Set goals for team members and provide periodic feedback against goals; conduct timely performance reviews; issue disciplinary warnings in coordination with HR and upper management as needed and provide corrective coaching/counseling.
- Direct team members’ activities on a daily basis to meet department objectives.
- Demonstrate positive leadership in words and behavior to create a highly motivated, competent team.
- Support the hiring and training of new personnel.
- Suggest training to enhance employee performance and skill development.
- Work collaboratively with other managers to address issues in a timely manner.
- Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
- Support research, development, and evaluation of new materials, vendors, equipment, and processing technologies.
- Review all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
- Prepare and presents technical and program information to the management team.
- Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards. Works directly with regulatory bodies to identify issues and compliance.
- Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality. Be versed in determining root cause analysis tools, CAPA authoring and managing prevention plans.
- Make decision on quality based on customer needs and company standards. Aide in correction if product is not compliant.
- Keep work area organized and safe at all times.
- Additional duties as assigned, including housekeeping and assisting in other areas.
Essential Experience, Skills & Abilities:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in related industry (chemistry, polymer science or engineering preferred) and 5 years of progressive management experience within a related environment. Thorough understanding of key regulatory requirements such as FDA, UL, EU, ISO etc.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization structure with strong influencing and communication skills. Must be highly organized, articulate and demonstrate intellectual rigor with a keen focus on being customer centric.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally as well as in preparing and delivering customer communications.
- CAPA/ Root Cause investigation experience
- Color, Polymer and/or extrusion experience a plus
Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
