Job Description

General Statement of Duties:

The non credit instructor provides instruction in Specific Academic Subject Matter: ex. MCAS,SAT,STEM,Science, Mathematics, English, Languages, Reading etc.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction to program classes;
Develop implementation strategy and curriculum;
Participate in student assistance/advisement;
Work collaboratively with Academic Counselors and Specialists and other program staff to provide appropriate accommodations for individual students;
Work together across curriculum with other instructors throughout the program;
Maintain adequate grant documentation if appropriate;
Assist in creating a supportive educational atmosphere for project participants;
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor required or in progress in appropriate field;
Evidence of commitment to classroom teaching/learning;
Willingness to advise students to meet their goals;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

Masters Degree in appropriate field;

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of subject to be taught;
Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate low-level learners;
Demonstrated ability to incorporate research methodology and technology in the classroom;
Ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population

Additional Information

Salary: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour, varies with position
