Job Title: -Business Analyst
Client:-Northern BANK
Location: -Onsite(Woburn, MA)
In -Person Interview
Internal Sizzle (Project/Initiative + Why the role is open/Team Size)
Here are the notes from the qual call. NB is looking to add another BA because theirbusiness partners think they’re not moving fast enough. The development and admin teams for Salesforce/nCino include four people, with two admins. These individuals are responsible for requirements, UAT, and monthly nCino enhancements, which is stretching their capacity. NB needs to streamline this process.
He is open to candidates who are interested in converting permanently. If you are sending someone interested in going the FTE route, please send their salary expectations. If they only want to strictly contract that is fine, Kevin is open to reviewing those profiles as well.
Rate is TBD are their finalizing budgets this week. Send what you’re finding but just know that Northern Bank is conservative. Ideally, I’d stay around the $110-$120/hour.
It's important that resources have banking experience, specifically in commercial lending if they don’t have nCino.
Role Expectations:
- The business initiates processes with minimal information (e.g., "I need this…"), so the BA must be a strong interviewer who can ask the right questions to fully understand business needs, not just agree with the request.
- The BA will work closely with developers, assist with QA, and support UAT, including developing test cases and explaining processes to the development team for production.
- Even without direct nCino experience, the candidate should assist with software upgrades and testing.
Required Experience:
- Strong experience in commercial banking/lending or nCino is essential. The terminology and concepts in commercial banking/lending systems are similar.
- The candidate should focus on identifying business needs rather than letting the business dictate specific solutions.
- Tenure will depend on the individual, not necessarily on years of experience.
Salesforce and nCino Integration:
- Salesforce is used for CRM, and nCino runs on Salesforce, making the two systems intertwined.
- Understanding Salesforce's organizational structure is critical for setting up opportunities and managing cases for clients.
- The CRM aspect is particularly important for the contact center, which tracks client interactions to provide a 360-degree view of the client’s history (e.g., outstanding loans, call history).
Budget and Timeline:
- Budget planning for the entire year is being done this week.
- Ideally, we'll have a contractor until June, with conversion planned for the second half of the year.
- On-site requirement: 3 days per week, though the bank is aiming to move to a full week.
- New building is opening in November – business is trying to move to a 5 day in-office schedule.
Interview Process:
- Interview panel includes Kevin, Regina Cohen (Lead BA), and Brian McFarland.
- The role involves a mix of project work and BAU (Business as Usual) tasks, particularly in commercial lending, CRM (sales, opportunities, leads), and customer support through the contact center.
