Buyer
The Buyer is an essential part of our team, responsible for managing daily purchasing activities. This position involves following established procedures to execute purchase orders and online buying, working with internal teams to understand purchasing needs, monitoring supplier performance, and identifying opportunities to consolidate requests for efficiency and cost savings. This position reports to the Director of Purchasing and Inventory Control.
What You’ll Do
- Order Processing: Accurately create and process orders/online buying according to established guidelines.
- Stakeholder Communication: Work with internal teams to clarify purchasing requirements and provide updates on order status.
- Supplier Coordination: Follow-up with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled on time and without errors and assist in resolving issues.
- Tracking and Reporting: Record and monitor key purchasing metrics, such as delivery times, and order and invoice accuracy.
- Request Consolidation: Assess opportunities to combine similar purchase requests to optimize order efficiency and achieve cost savings.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of purchase orders and supplier communications.
- Problem-Solving: Assist in resolving routine issues such as delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ year’s experience in managing purchase orders or working in a similar role.
- Familiarity with manufacturing related supplies and equipment.
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams and suppliers.
- Motivated self-starter willing to work independently and with teams to accomplish goals.
- Flexibility to work Mon-Fri, standard business hours to support all US time zones
