Power BI Developer
What You’ll Do
This is a greenfield opportunity to help us build a scalable operating platform for Divert. As the Power BI Developer, you will build and support our companywide reporting platform. You will work hand in hand with the business and technology teams to define the required models, extract, aggregate and transform data, and develop our key reports and dashboards. The successful candidate will be an experienced, inquisitive, quick learner who will bridge business needs and data and reporting solutions. You’ll be knowledgeable about data standards and integrity, KPIs, dashboards, and integrating multiple data sources. Additional responsibilities include working with our business analyst to develop short- and long-term roadmaps, translating the reporting requirements into required technical capabilities for our applications and development teams, performing data analysis, managing mid-size projects, and contributing to the maturing of our use of data as a company asset.
- (60%) Execute the Power BI and reporting development aspects of projects from requirements and design through solution development, testing, documentation, and implementation.
- (20%) Review business needs, feedback, existing reports and data management practices to recommend improvements and execute solutions on the Power BI Platform.
- (10%) Identify opportunities to improve data management capabilities and serve as a subject matter expert for core business metrics
- (5%) Attain a high re-use of technology focused on the broader Microsoft Platform
- (5%) Analyzes and troubleshoots the root cause of data quality, user or technical issues
What You’ll Need
- Demonstrated ability to understand sales and distribution processes and create/convert raw data into actionable insight(s), enabling the management team to make smarter, data-driven decisions.
- Developing, promoting, and improving Power BI reporting and data solutions
- Creating data models in the Common Data Service and integrating data from multiple functional sources
- Extracting, transforming and loading data from multiple applications
- Ability to assess requirements and design the appropriate architecture for the solution.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Exceptional communication, documentation and organizational skills.
- Capacity to multi-task, superior organizational skills, and relentless attention to detail.
- Strong track record in managing concurrent tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, changing, demanding environment with quality results.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assist with problem solving and business rule definition.
- Handles ambiguity without losing focus and can perform with minimal direction.
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Six (6) years’ experience working with, and supporting businesses in the area of Business Intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI with direct project experience
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills (data and financial analysis).
- Must be a strong collaborator, team player, and individual contributor
- Clear ability to apply continuous improvement and technology to business processes preferred
- Experience with Dataverse, Snowflake, data warehouse design, SQL and ETL tools preferred
