THE ROLE: The TEC SDPA Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the privacy and security of student data for member school districts of The Education Cooperative Student Data Privacy Alliance (TEC SDPA). This role involves utilizing the Student Data Privacy Consortium Resource Registry to facilitate the acquisition of signed Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) from digital providers for member school districts across various states. The coordinator will work remotely.OUR ORGANIZATION: The Education Cooperative (TEC) is an educational collaborative and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in E. Walpole, MA that develops and coordinates educational and organizational programs to meet the needs of our 17 member communities and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their school programs and expands opportunities for their students, educators and communities in the most cost effective manner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Data Privacy Agreement Acquisition-Utilize the Student Data Privacy Consortium Resource Registry to identify and retrieve the necessary Data Privacy Agreement requests from member school districts. Work with the digital providers to secure signed Data Privacy Agreements.Communication -Maintain clear and professional communication with member school districts via email, phone calls, and other relevant communication channels.-Address inquiries related to Data Privacy Agreements and provide timely responses to ensure a smooth process.Documentation-Keep accurate records of all communication, including agreements, correspondence, and any other relevant documentation.-Ensure that all agreements are properly documented, signed, and securely posted according to established protocols.Compliance-Keep track of the progress of Data Privacy Agreement acquisitions and any potential compliance issues.Collaboration and Reporting-Collaborate with the TEC SDPA team to align efforts and contribute to the overall mission of safeguarding student data privacy.-Solicit input from the TEC SDPA Director for inquiries or concerns that may arise during the process.-Maintain consistent communication with the TEC SDPA Director to apprise them of the status of DPAs.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.-Prior work experience in the education sector is a plus.-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.-Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication and documentation.-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.-Prior experience in data privacy is a plus.-Familiarity with the Student Data Privacy Consortium Resource Registry is advantageous.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, & SKILL -Technological proficiency - having the necessary skills to produce and maintain reports and communicate electronically.-Strong planning skills and ability to prioritize.-Strong oral and written communication skills.-Ability to work under time restraints and meet deadlines.-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
