Summary: T he Healthcare Analyst I position is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of healthcare data to support organization-wide decision-making. The analyst coordinates and prioritizes analysis requests and assists in the identification of healthcare system opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, coding, utilization and outcomes
Analytics – 40%
- Provides analytical support for ongoing and ad hoc projects, including defining data needs, evaluating data quality, and executing on developing analyses.
- Effectively community and document analytical processes and results.
- Supports other functions in all project phases from concept to implementation.
- Continually develop analytical and technical skills in order to support advancing and evolving functions.
- Assists in clinical program and initiative evaluation.
- Documents appropriate analytic processes.
- Assists senior analytics roles in more advance projects and processes.
Ad-Hoc Support – 60%
- Provides support for ad-hoc requests that require clinical, quality, risk adjustment, and financial analysis.
- Prepares analysis for internal and external customers focused on reducing costs and enhancing healthcare system efficiency.
Minimum Requirements: State the specific knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required to perform the essential functions listed above. Include particular degrees, licenses, certifications, etc. if they are a minimum requirement for the job.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science) and a minimum of 1-3 years of financial or analytical experience in a healthcare or related environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with SAS, R, and/or Python
- Exposure to SQL
- Experience working with large datasets
- Practical ability to visual data and communicate analysis findings
- Healthcare market experience a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work independently
- MS Office required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
