Our client, a prestigious international college preparatory school in the Greater Boston area seeks an experienced and visionary Head of School to lead its next phase of growth and excellence. This role combines oversight of both elite athletic programs and rigorous academics within a highly resourced, entrepreneurial environment. The Head of School will shape institutional strategy while managing daily operations of this distinctive academy. The position demands excellence in educational leadership, athletic program development, and student achievement. With alumni advancing to Ivy League universities and prestigious arts institutions, the academy has established a strong foundation for continued growth. The ideal candidate will drive both operational and academic excellence, working across admissions, finance, and marketing to enhance the academy's reach and reputation both domestically and internationally.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Administration
- Provide visionary leadership setting high expectations for both academic excellence and elite athletic performance
- Implement strategic objectives aligning academic and sports programs
- Drive EBITDA growth
- Maintain accreditation standards and regulatory compliance
Academic & Athletic Excellence
- Lead development of elite athlete sports programs with top-tier coaching and training
- Ensure rigorous academic curriculum and high achievement standards
- Balance demands of elite athletic training with academic rigor
- Foster student progression to leading universities including Ivy League institutions
Student Development & Welfare
- Create an environment promoting both academic and athletic excellence
- Develop well-rounded individuals focused on achievement, teamwork, and resilience
- Ensure comprehensive student care and safety standards
- Oversee residential life program and student experience
Operational Leadership
- Manage annual budget and resource allocation
- Drive recruitment and retention of high-performing students and student-athletes
- Build and develop expert faculty and staff teams
- Maintain partnerships with universities, sports organizations, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Graduate degree
- Master's degree advantageous
- Proven educational leadership experience within a private school environment
- Strong fiscal management capabilities
- Experience with international student populations
- Deep understanding of U.S. education system and college admissions

- Outstanding stakeholder management abilities
