Vice President of Operations
We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Vice President of Operations for our client, a fast-growing software company in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate is a builder at heart—someone entrepreneurial, hands-on, and ready to lead with purpose. This role is perfect for someone who loves rolling up their sleeves, making smart decisions, and building strong teams to take a company to the next level. The Vice President of Operations is a direct hire position and candidates must live or relocate to the Boston area. No sponsorship or third party arrangements available.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the company’s core functions—product development, engineering, HR, and business development.
- Help shape and execute strategies to boost efficiency and support growth.
- Find better ways to do things—optimize processes, foster innovation, and build a culture that supports smart scaling.
- Manage the day-to-day operations, from big-picture planning down to the details.
- Partner closely with the CEO to keep operations aligned with the company’s vision.
- Work hand-in-hand with the business development team to make sure operations support sales and growth goals.
- Allocate resources smartly across teams and projects.
- Track key performance metrics and keep leadership in the loop with regular updates.
- Lead cross-functional projects that improve how the business runs.
- Stay on top of compliance and industry standards.
- Spot operational risks early and figure out how to solve them.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or something similar (MBA is a bonus).
- 10+ years of operations experience, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role.
- A strong track record in operations leadership, especially in tech environments.
- Great strategic thinking and a knack for solving problems.
- Solid leadership skills—you know how to build and inspire teams.
- Comfortable working with data and performance metrics.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Experience helping startups scale quickly and efficiently.
