Overview
The R&D Scientist I is an over-time eligible internship position that reports to a member of the R&D Management team. The R&D Scientist I is responsible for conducting development experiments and manufacturing of novel materials and diagnostic test components.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $23.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws.
Essential Functions
- Design and conduct experiments to develop new products or improve existing ones.
- Evaluate, interpret, and curate data to draw conclusions and present findings in a clear and suitable format.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to management and other team members.
- Keep comprehensive and accurate records to guarantee data traceability and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Generate and maintain active working relationships with outside vendors and internal groups.
- Revise and suggest changes to standard operating procedures and safety protocols as requested by the manager.
- Maintain inventory of raw materials, disposables, and kit/project materials to ensure smooth day-to-day lab operations.

Required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Pursuing a BS in Biochemistry, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Antibody and small molecule knowledge.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- 1 or more years of related work experience.
- Familiar with FPLC/HPLC/UPLC/LCMS.
- Knowledgeable on Production or Quality Control procedures and equipment.
- Diagnostic test manufacturing experience.
- GMP/GLP experience.
- Molecular and structural biology experience (Pymol, etc.).
- Coding language proficiency (R/Python).
- DNA software experience (Geneious/SnapGene).
- Mammalian cell culture experience.
