In this lab-based role, the scientist will apply novel covalent drug discovery techniques to identify and validate ligands for challenging proteins. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented, and lifelong learner with expertise in covalent drug discovery and compound screening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-throughput compound screening
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot novel screening approaches for covalent ligand discovery
- Proactively communicate verbally and in writing to engage effectively with multidisciplinary team members
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate screening stages and timelines
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expertise in covalent chemoproteomics and data analysis
- Strong understanding of compound binding affinity, selectivity, reactivity, and kinetics
- Experience with automation for liquid handling
- Proficiency in affinity capture methods, including immunoprecipitation
- Experience with Western blot analysis
- Strong background in cell biology, including cell culture and lentiviral-based expression
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field; or
- Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience in covalent drug discovery, compound screening, and biochemical assays
- Strong track record of scientific research and problem-solving in a laboratory setting
