Position Summary
Cambrian College’s Schools of Community Services, Interdisciplinary Studies and Public Safety require a full-time Placement Coordinator on a leave replacement basis.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Actively work with program coordinators and/ or faculty to continue prior placement opportunities and generate new placement opportunities through ongoing communication, marketing, cold calling, mail-outs, email, employer visits, and follow-up calling. Organize the placement site and student matching process and inform and advise sites of Cambrian’s policies and procedures.
- Host and attend ongoing Placement Coordinator and Program Coordinator meetings to promote effective partnerships and communication.
- Liaise with placement site and Academic faculty support / Program Coordinators regarding issues that may arise during student placement.
- Participate in liaison meetings, etc. and promote other services offered by the college when requested.
- Manage all affiliation agreements, including monitoring and renewals, and establish new agreements in a timely manner to ensure all agreements are in place well before placements commence.
- Collaborate with the faculty team to inform students about the placement sites and the applicable requirements.
- Develop a reporting process in accordance with Ministry requirements and report back to Academic areas as required.Maintain accurate and concise student records.
- Provide documentation to the Dean/Chair and Program Coordinators; keep track of students and placement sites and generate appropriate reports and records.
- Develop a tracking system in a shared database to ensure all stakeholders are up to date and current on student placement information.
- Work with other departments to coordinate reporting and tracking requirements
Qualifications
Required:
- Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
- Five years of experience working within the social welfare system and/or human services field and must have a minimum of one year of experience in working within a community organization.
- Must exhibit a strong understanding of community connections.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and good judgment.
- Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and who works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- A valid Ontario driver’s license is essential to this role.
Additional Assets/Preferred:
- Experience in a postsecondary setting with exposure to clerical and administrative functions, accreditation demands, placement challenges, and an understanding of the complexities of community service programs.
