Sasaki is seeking an innovative, self-driven, and creative entry level planner to work across markets and on a variety of project types This includes but not limited to college and university campuses, urban/mixed use districts, corporate employment campuses, resilience planning, and community plans. The successful candidate will have an interest and enthusiasm for spatial planning and be expected to independently conduct research and analysis and synthesize findings in a clear and compelling narrative.

What You Will Bring
- Familiarity with a broad range of basic planning concepts from land use to transportation.
- A demonstrated ability to research and synthesize complex planning concepts and new concepts from related disciplines
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for working across a variety of client and project types. At present, the new team member is anticipated to spend at least half the time on campus planning.
- Clear graphic communication and storytelling abilities
- Knowledge of and comfort with Adobe Suite workflow (INDD, AI) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills to support data-informed physical planning processes
- An open mind and enthusiasm for engaging with people and projects in a variety of cultural, geographic, and demographic contexts
What You Will Do
- Work across markets and on a variety of project types for both the private and public sectors. This includes but is not limited to college and university campuses, urban/mixed use districts, corporate employment campuses, resilience planning, and community plans.
- Deliver informational graphics production; layouts for presentations, reports, and engagement materials along with mapping and 2D diagrams
- Planning reports, memoranda and increase growth in day-to-day communications
Planners at Sasaki share a common set of core competencies, but also have a range of complementary strengths and interests. Successful candidates will meet some or most of these )
- Experience with community engagement processes or public speaking
- Familiarity conducting spatial analysis with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Proficiency in languages spoken in frequent project locations (Spanish and Chinese)
- Degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, or another design field
- Experience working as a part of an interdisciplinary design team
- Familiarity with emerging topics in planning and design
- A unique superpower that we haven’t thought to ask about, but that will make an impact on our projects and practice
Experience And Education
- Master’s degree in planning or a related field or a bachelor’s degree in planning or related field with a preference for one to two years of relevant experience
- 0-3 years of experience
