Job Summary
The Vice President of Information Technology plays a crucial role in guaranteeing that our technology team and resources effectively bolster everyday operations. The person in this role must possess a robust background in technology, outstanding skills in customer service, and adeptness in managing people, projects, and finances. This position entails leading an IT team of 6 to 8 members, supervising daily support activities, infrastructure, managing applications, and steering IT projects. The role demands a proactive leader prepared to implement the strategic vision and promises of the Chief Technology Officer through hands-on leadership and tactical execution.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- IT Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the IT team effectively, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Operational and Customer Support Excellence: Ensure daily operational tasks and customer support goals are consistently met, actively offering hands-on support for key applications and infrastructure.
- Performance Measurement and Enhancement: Maintain and enhance existing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while also exploring opportunities to introduce new success metrics.
- Project Management and Collaboration: Collaborate with peers to manage projects from start to finish, encompassing vendor selection, defining business requirements, design, development, documentation, testing, training, and hypercare.
- Process and Technology Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process and technological enhancements within the existing suite of solutions.
- Disaster Recovery and Cybersecurity Involvement: Engage in disaster recovery and cybersecurity planning, operational activities, and testing.
- IT Project Prioritization: Participate in the ongoing prioritization of IT projects, contributing to roadmaps and related documentation.
- Budget and Financial Management: Oversee the creation of budgets, track financials, and manage the review and approval process for invoices.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Certifications in one or more of the following areas are preferred: Business Analysis, Application or Infrastructure Design, Development, Administration or Support, ITIL, Six Sigma, and Project Management.
- Possesses extensive and diverse knowledge across various technology and project domains.
- Demonstrates a robust technical foundation with practical experience in IT infrastructure or application management.
- Exhibits strong analytical skills and a proactive stance in tackling IT-related challenges.
- Displays significant business insight and a customer-oriented approach.
- Capable of fostering consensus and effectively advocating for technological decisions.
- Experienced in strategizing the transition from conceptualization to execution.
- Familiar with third-party technology assessments, policy formulation, and ensuring audit preparedness.
- Brings over 15 years of experience in infrastructure, operations, or application roles.
- Holds more than 5 years of experience in positions that involve direct contract and financial oversight.
Job Environment
This Vice President of Information Technology position is based in an onsite environment located in Lawrence, MA. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Compensation
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications. For the purpose of this role, the minimum salary opportunity is:
