We are a specialized private school dedicated to celebrating every student's unique journey and potential. Our intimate learning environment serves six students with individualized education programs (IEPs), creating a space where breakthroughs happen daily and every step forward is recognized. Here, you'll have the opportunity to truly know each student, understand their challenges, and be there for their moments of triumph – whether that's mastering a new concept, developing a new skill, or building confidence in their abilities.
We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher who understands that progress comes in all sizes and that every achievement deserves celebration. In this role, you'll work closely with our small student population, allowing you to develop deep, meaningful connections and witness the direct impact of your dedication. If you're someone who finds joy in the small victories and satisfaction in helping students discover their capabilities, this position offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in young lives.
As our Special Education Teacher, you'll create an environment where success is recognized and growth is celebrated. Your role will involve:
- Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and try new things
- Developing and implementing individualized teaching strategies based on each student's IEP, celebrating progress at every step
- Preparing comprehensive progress reports that track each student's development across academic, social, and behavioral domains
- Conducting regular assessments and maintaining detailed documentation to inform IEP updates and progress monitoring
- Working closely with families to share progress reports, moments of breakthrough, and achievement
- Collaborating with team members to ensure consistent tracking and reporting of student growth
The ideal candidate brings not just experience, but heart to this role. We're looking for someone who has experience working in private school settings and understands that teaching is as much about building confidence as it is about building skills. Your knowledge of teaching methodologies and behavioral interventions should be matched by your ability to connect with students and recognize their individual potential.
We provide a comprehensive benefits package including:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Health insurance and retirement plan
- Professional development opportunities
- A supportive community that values work-life balance
- The intangible reward of seeing your students grow and succeed each day
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching certification
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs, along with strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
- Excellence in communication and collaboration with both families and colleagues
