Overview:
The Vice President, Operations provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively execute the Company's day to day operating requirements consistent with the Company's long term plans. The VP, Operations will oversee procurement, equipment logistics and compliance with State & Federal Department of Transportation regulations. This role will cover our Northeast territory which includes - CT, DC, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OH, PA, NC, RI, SC, VA and will require extensive travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of how the business operates and how those operations affect the financial performance of the Company.
- Ensure that company priorities and goals are developed and understood by operating management.
- The VP, Operations will monitor and adjust as necessary key performance indicators to evaluate ongoing performance.
- Run operations in a manner that continuously improves execution and delivers top-notch service to our customers.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards across all divisions.
- Identify and foster the transfer of best practices and leverage existing capabilities within the company.
- Motivate, develop and lead a high perfo1mance management team; attract, recruit and retain key top management; provide mentoring and direction.
- Foster a success-orientated, accountable environment within the company.
- Ensure that equipment is procured with the best "cost of use" and maximize utilization across all operating territories by overseeing the procurement and logistics functions.
- Ensure employees operate company equipment consistent with Company Policies and D.O.T. regulations.
- Develop a safety culture and continuously aim to reduce accident frequency.
- Actively participate in the preparation and review of new business proposals.
- Lead and assist in driving vendor performance and strong working relationships.
- VP, Operations will be actively involved in growing the company organically by expanding existing products and services, and by taking advantage of new business opportunities.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting and analysis. Develops and implements plans to achieve corporate goals.
- Monitors and ensures EBITDA, working capital and capital spending objectives are met.
- Proactively monitor and act on operational issues affecting the company, including competitive pressures, market/industry movements and other business and/or customer challenges that impact company performance.
- Work closely with other members of the Senior Executive Team in the development & execution of the Company's long term strategic plans.
- Travel extensively 60-80% within the United States to ensure the divisions operate safely and efficiently and are in compliance.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to build relationships, communicate and write with impact, and ability to coach and develop business leaders, be decisive with outstanding business judgment, think strategically, produce results, know the business, influence and negotiate, manage work/time, and use ethical practices
- Demonstrated professionalism and leadership
- Strong analytical background and ability to establish aggressive goals and deliver results
- Ability to translate business goals into metrics and drive team results
- Organizational design and development background with the ability to anticipate changing business requirements and translate them into key priorities or changes within the organizational structure
- Proven track record of creating significant operational and productivity improvements
- Experience in the route-based service industry with multiple locations preferred

Salary Range: $190,000.00 – $360,000.00 / year Pay Transparency Statement: At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications.
