Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning - Strategic Leadership Role in Biotech Innovation!

Are you an experienced supply chain leader ready to make a lasting impact in the fast-evolving world of biotechnology? We are a rapidly growing, well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing company headquartered in Massachusetts, with nearly 70 years of excellence in advancing patient care through breakthrough diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and AI-powered healthcare solutions.

We are now seeking a Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning to join our high-performing leadership team and drive the strategic evolution of our global supply chain operations.

The Role: Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning

This role isn’t just about optimization—it’s about transformation. You’ll lead a team of ten across planning, inventory, materials, and SIOP while driving strategic initiatives to scale and modernize our operations. We’re looking for someone who’s equally comfortable in the details and the boardroom—someone with executive presence, a builder’s mindset, and the experience to lead through growth and change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect the Future: Stand up our newly adopted SAP/IBP platform, driving implementation strategy, integration, and adoption across planning functions. You’ll lay the foundation for long-term scalability and excellence.
  • Lead High-Impact Teams: Inspire and direct a cross-functional team of ten supply chain professionals. Foster engagement, development, and accountability in a culture that values agility and innovation.
  • Own End-to-End Planning: Build and enhance demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, and inventory optimization processes aligned with business growth targets and compliance needs.
  • Drive SIOP/eSIOP Excellence: Champion and mature the SIOP/eSIOP process to ensure alignment across commercial, finance, operations, and supply chain teams. Turn planning into a strategic advantage.
  • Ensure Financial and Regulatory Rigor: Bring deep expertise in SOX controls, inventory management, and materials handling within a regulated (FDA/EMEA) environment.
  • Partner at the Top: Collaborate closely with executive leadership and be a trusted voice in strategic decision-making. Must be comfortable operating in high-visibility forums with strong executive presence.
  • Shape Culture: Thrive in a results-driven, entrepreneurial environment. Balance structure with flexibility, and lead by example in supporting a dynamic, high-performance culture.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or MS) strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of supply chain experience, including 7+ years in leadership roles, ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.
  • Strong track record of standing up and scaling supply chain and planning programs (e.g., SAP/IBP).
  • Deep expertise in inventory, materials, and SOX compliance.
  • Skilled in SIOP/eSIOP frameworks, supply chain architecture, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Results-oriented with sound P&L, data, and process acumen.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and change, while delivering measurable improvements.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Must be culture-savvy, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, mission-focused organization.
