Windwalker Group is seeking dedicated Security Guards to support our team at Emerson College in downtown Boston. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, urban campus environment and play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Position Overview
As a Security Guard assigned to Emerson College, you will serve as a frontline ambassador for campus safety. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a secure, welcoming environment through professional presence, proactive observation, and responsive action.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and manage all visitors at campus access control points with courtesy and professionalism.
Monitor and enforce compliance with campus safety policies and security procedures.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor at all times.
Collaborate with Emerson College’s Public Safety team and local/state law enforcement as needed.
Uphold high standards of conduct; demonstrate zero tolerance for non-professional behavior.
Participate in routine safety checks, incident reporting, and emergency preparedness drills.
Maintain open lines of communication with campus personnel and Windwalker management.
Deliver high-level customer service through daily interaction with students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Remain vigilant and responsive in dynamic campus settings and during special events.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a background check.
Strong situational awareness and ability to adapt to changing environments.
Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain and enforce safety protocols effectively.
Dependable, flexible, and able to manage a variety of security-related tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of prior security, public safety, or concierge experience.
Familiarity with surveillance systems and electronic access controls.
CPR, First Aid, AED, NARCAN, MOAB, or ACT I/II/III certifications highly preferred.
Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field.
Experience in report writing, incident documentation, and conflict resolution.
