Position Summary

Cambrian College’s Office of the Registrar Department requires a Records, System and Data Analyst on a Full-Time basis.

Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Records, Systems and Data Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing data integrity as it relates to the collection, organization, and submissions of the college’s operational and institutional reporting requirements.
  • Contributing to the development of data systems, tables and reports.
  • Providing guidance to other staff regarding data standards and record integrity.
  • Leading the effort to build reports and data extracts from the Student Information System (SIS)
  • Assisting in ensuring that the integration between SIS modules are operational and optimized in an effort to ensure that data outputs are compliant with college policy, Ministry directives, and operational requirements
  • Undertaking special assignments related to the enhancement or modification of the underlying data systems, and reporting tables.
  • Leading the work of identifying, designing, validating, debugging and maintaining data tables, queries, and views that facilitate automated data processing and reporting tasks

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of a three-year postsecondary diploma, or equivalent in a discipline emphasizing computer programming, data analysis and/or statistics, or a diploma or degree in a related field (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • Must have a minimum of five years practical experience working with data in enterprise applications
  • Must have proficient critical analysis skills
  • Excellent knowledge of computer software such as relational databases with statistical/reporting applications
  • Must also have experience with relational databases, as well as troubleshoot, debug and write complex formulas/codes
  • Highly motivated professional with excellent interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Collaborative professional who can work independently and within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred

  • Experience working with Cambrian’s Student Information System (Banner), SSMS/SQL and PowerBI
  • Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
