Job Summary
Seeking a compassionate CVT with animal handling experience (dogs/cats) to join our physical rehabilitation team. We are a busy privately owned veterinary physical rehab service which is conveniently located between several specialty veterinary hospitals and general practices that regularly feed our patient clientele.
This position requires CVT certification, and we will train you in all things veterinary-rehab! A successful candidate must have an interest in the specialty of veterinary rehabilitation, have a good work ethic, strong communication skills, positive team-oriented attitude, and a desire for continued growth and professional development.
Our current team members are rehabilitation-certified and our facility is equipped with an AquaPaws water treadmill, a therapeutic exercise area with FitPaws equipment, and Laser therapy. We offer a heavy focus on manual and hydrotherapy techniques, have a strong pain-management approach, and offer acupuncture and myofascial modalities.
The technician will be a valued member of the team responsible for providing direct patient care, assist with the design and implementation of rehabilitation programs, client education, customer service, and overall support of the rehabilitation team. We offer a 4-day work week with weekends off.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Work under the guidance of a certified veterinary rehabilitation therapist to assist with the handling of patients and the use of following treatment tools and modalities;
- Therapeutic exercises
- Manual therapies (PROM, massage, stretch, myofascial work)
- Hydrotherapy
- Laser therapy
- Electrical stimulation
- Shockwave therapy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Provide excellent in-person as well as phone communication interaction with clients regarding patient scheduling, treatment plan, and progress.
- Communicate with team members in an efficient and timely manner regarding patient & client interaction for real-time patient updates.
- Participate in daily case management presentation for treatment planning in the form of medical rounds.
- Communicate with the DRAS Daycare & Boarding Staff in regard to mutual clients/patients re; scheduling, treatment plan, patient progress, invoicing, and in-facility patient handling.
- Maintain patient medical records as required by practice standards. Medical records must remain secure, be kept current, and handled in a professional manner at all times.
- Create a positive work environment in which the practice can achieve its goals.
