Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine necessary repairs.
- Utilize auto estimating software to provide accurate repair cost estimates.
- Collaborate with auto body shops and repair facilities to gather information on repair processes and costs.
- Analyze vehicle specifications, including mechanical knowledge, to ensure accurate appraisals.
- Negotiate with service providers and insurance companies to facilitate fair settlements.
- Maintain detailed records of appraisals, including photographs and written reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, automotive technologies, and repair techniques to enhance appraisal accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and explaining appraisal findings clearly.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto estimating, automotive repair, or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with service writing and auto body repair processes is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate vehicle conditions effectively.
- Knowledge of underwriting principles within the automotive industry is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills to advocate for fair pricing and settlements.
