Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the interoperability final rule project, ensuring successful project management and implementation. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing vendors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, developing project plans, and facilitating communications to ensure timely project completion. This role requires a strong background in healthcare project management, with a focus on healthcare information technology and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the interoperability final rule project, acting as the primary point of accountability for project success.
- Manage project management vendors to ensure timely delivery of services as per contract requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project execution and compliance with federal regulations.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and activities to meet project deliverables and align with business needs.
- Facilitate project team meetings to communicate project status and coordinate team activities.
- Create presentations, project reports, and other materials for stakeholder communications, providing regular updates and addressing key issues.
- Monitor project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and track action items.
- Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, including invoice management and human resource time reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with project team members, senior leadership, and stakeholders.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to project management and procurement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the healthcare industry, particularly in healthcare IT.
- Minimum of 3 years of IT-related project management experience.
- Ability to build effective relationships with management, vendors, and project team members.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to business staff and simplify complex information.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to dynamic project needs.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Experience with project documentation and proficiency in MS Project.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
