About the Company:
We are a government contractor performing Aircraft Wash Services at Westover ARB. We are seeking individuals that are quick learners and can work well with others. Starlight anticipates hiring approximately 6-8 new crew members in the next 30 -60 days. Candidates if hired will receive on the job training; however, it is preferred candidates have C-5 aircraft maintenance experience. Any aircraft maintenance experience is preferred, but not required. It is preferred that the candidate has experience working with military personnel, but not required. This is a great opportunity for retired military personnel and/or applicants with an A&P license. Civilian Government employees and US Armed Service members may require written approval for off duty employment IAW DOD 5500 and other applicable statutes and regulations.
Most wash services will be conducted on the weekends, some being 2-3 times a month. The job duties include, but are not limited to, the following procedures;
Pre-wash preparation:
Prepare aircraft for wash services (i.e., adding protective covers, masking tape, etc.). In addition, remove and/or open all required panels and access doors. Operate the aircraft hydraulic systems to kneel/unkneel the aircraft, and open/close the fwd and aft loading complexes as required. Remove waste containers to the component wash area. Remove and stow all debris and loose equipment on the flight station, relief crew, courier, and troop compartments (bunk mattresses remain in their stowed position).
Post Wash /Lubrication and Restoration:
Prepare the aircraft for lube to include removal of all required panels and will perform lubrication of aircraft IAW Applicable Technical Order. Lubrication to begin within 1 hour after wash completion. After several attempts, if a grease fitting will not accept grease or is broken off the contractor will remove and replace the grease fitting, annotate the AFTO 781 series forms/G0-81 for each instance. Lube points will be replaced and lubed before completion of lubrication services. Restore the aircraft from wash and lubrication IAW applicable technical data.
Exterior Wash:
Wash the exterior of the aircraft and include, thrust reversers, flap wells, spoilers, wheel wells, landing gear doors, main landing gear pods, T-tail and service compartments accessible by quick-disconnect fasteners on the outside of the aircraft. This service also applies to all landing gear assemblies, wheels, tires, brakes, and any components within the specified work areas, not specifically identified herein.
All services will be accomplished in accordance with listed specifications and the procedures outlined in the following technical orders: 1-1-691, 1-1-8, 1C-5M-23, 1C-5M-23-1, and 1C-5M-6WC-13.
The Aircraft Worker will be responsible for coordinating and managing all activities on-site, ensuring efficient and effective operations. This is a part time position with competitive pay.
Duties:
- Conduct wash services such as, clean, scrub, lubricate, conduct quality control, and maintenance activities
- Coordinate with various employees to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of wash services
- Complete tasks and provided by site manager and alternate site manager.
- Collaborate with government customer, partners, and vendors to address any issues or concerns
- Implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Experience:
- Aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and upper management.
a. Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to but not limited to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to lie, stand or kneel in awkward positions and occasionally work in pre-carious positions. (i.e. scaffolds and ladders)
· Must be able to endure loud noise and vibration. (Will be required to wear ear plugs.)
· Must be able to carry materials weighing up to but not limited to 30 lbs. while climbing ladders / stands ranging up to but not limited to 30’ in height.
· Must be on your feet up to, but not limited to (8) hours a day.
· Must have good phone etiquette, in addition to good communication skills.
· May be trained to navigate lift equipment ranging from 15’ up to, but not limited to 65’.
· May be required to provide proof of social security as required by E-Verify.
· May be required to provide proof of United States Citizenship.
· Must be comfortable walking from 15’ to 30’ in the air and comfortable at height elevations up to 65’.
· Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Law and Credit background check (NACL) to obtain a SECRET clearance if needed.
· Must be able to obtain military issued Common Access Card (CAC) for base access if needed.
· Must be able to obtain military issued Flight Line Badges for Flight Line Access if needed.

We are also looking for a site manager to manage the crew and scheduled services. It is preferred these candidates also have aviation maintenance experience, but it is not required. It also preferred these candidates have military experience, but not required.

Pay: $33.71 - $37.02 per hour
